A pioneer preacher, Dr. L. R. Lawson, proclaimed the gospel in Thorn Grove, Tennessee and many preachers have gone out to preach. Dr. Ashley S. Johnson was converted in Thorn Grove Christian Church and later established JohnsonBible College.
