Description: Vintage 60s era Ulster Linen Tea Towel Kitchen towel featuring an all over design of the Legend of the Blue Willow. 19" wide x 29" Long, Bright and clean with print in very good shape. Towel was stored away unused and washed only once for this listing so linen fabric is nice and tight. The story behind the Blue Willow pattern is one of forbidden, star-crossed love! The pattern tells the story of a wealthy merchant named Tso Ling who had a beautiful daughter named Kwang-se. The father and daughter resided in a beautiful pagoda, situated under a pine tree next to a bridge. Other elements that always appear in the story and pattern are, willow trees, pine trees, abridge with three men on it, a fence, a boat, and of course two birds in flight! Thoughtful gift for your favorite blue willow collector! Thanks for looking!
