Description: Unique and so lovely is our vintage celadon table lamp, likely from the 1930s-1940s. We believe it is vitreous china/porcelain due to its weight and glossy finish. Vitreous china isa ceramic material with a glass-like enamel coating and is made from clay, feldspar, quartz, and powdered glass that's fired at high temperatures to create a dense, non-porous material. The color is a gorgeous celadon green with a pretty lilac floral transfer and gold accents. There is a squat china pedestal situated on an ornate brass base, upon which is a large urn shape covered with anothrr ornate brass cap. The harp and finial are included. The underside of the brass base has imprints, which includes the letters N.Y.C. (New York City). The height of the lamp is approximately 30", the base is 9" wide and it weighs 11#. The harp itself is 13" to the top of the finial x 5". The socket, cord and plug are not original. The lamp accepts a 3-way light bulb and works very well. I have not found another such beautiful lamp, and we have a pair; but because of their large size and weight, we will be listing them separately. Our lamp is in excellent previously owned condition; the brass base has a bit of patina. Thank you for looking.
