Description: VTG Chinese Famille Rose Large Ginger Jar W/Lid Rose Medallion Pattern c. 1928. Rare Ornate Ginger Jar decorated in the Famille Rose Medallion Pattern c. 1928. This stunning Ginger jar boasts hand painted raised relief decoration in hugh’s of orange, green, pink, red & black with gold gilt detailing. Depicts foliage and birds on two sides and a Chinese Opera scene on the other two sides. Measures 14” tall to top of finial (with lid), 35.5” circumference and weighs 10lb, 7.2 Oz. Beautiful condition commensurate with age, no chips or cracks to the jar, lid/finial. Slight wear to the gold gilt detailing around the mouth opening. The makers mark on the underside indicates it’s from the “Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi” translating to the “Great Qing Qianlong Period”. See photos for more details.
