Description: VTG EARTHENWARE POTTERY CLAY PILGRIM COUPLE SETTLERS THANKSGIVING SIGNED FIGURINESI'm listing this piece as earthenware pottery/clay because I'm not sure exactly what kind of clay it is. It is light brownish in tone. I found another couple that was very similar and that seller referred to them as redware pottery, but I could find no other like them.Hand sculpted with intricate details that are both formed, cut and painted. Then a high gloss glaze was applied to everything but their faces and hands.The gold trim throughout both figures accents their brown and white simple clothing. Their rosy cheeks are quite appropriate as a splash of color, but also symbolize the chilly Thanksgiving season possibly. Signed but I couldn't find any other pieces with these letters. It's very difficult to tell whether they are initials or a short name.BEFORE PACKING this amazing handmade piece so that it makes it safely from us to you, it is approximately 7 1/2” tall, 4 1/2” wide, 3 “ deep and weighs about a pound.
