Vtg. Flying Colors Hand Painted Ceramic Heart Pendant Necklace & Post Earrings

Description: This wonderful ceramic vintage necklace is signed “Flying Colors”. It has matching blue splatter pierced earrings. The necklace’s primary colors are white, blue and red. It measures ~21” long and the heart pendant is ~1.75” wide an 1.5” long. The heart shaped earrings are ~1” x 1”. This stylish necklace can be worn on any occasion with both dressy and casual outfits. This is NOS. The condition is excellent. It’s a fabulous find and will make any recipient happy. Please look at all photos as I consider them to be an important part of my description. Sets are hard to find and highly sought after. The original company, Parrot Pearls, was founded in 1975 in San Francisco. Their easily recognizable necklaces and pins are ceramic jewelry in fanciful shapes such as hearts, animals, flowers, strung along colorful bead chains. These were artisan companies with hand made, hand painted products. Parrot Pearls split off in the 1980's into Flying Colors (run by former Parrot Pearl employees) and into Ruby Z, owned by two of the original founders of PP, Bean Finneran and Candace Loheed. The Ruby Z, Flying Colors and Parrot Pearls were never mass produced and have been featured in collectors' books such as Ann Mitchell Pitman's "Inside the Jewelry Box, Vol. 2" (pages 7 -13) and Kathy Flood's "Warman's Jewelry Guide, 4th Ed."
