Description: Valiant Women Heroes of World War Two! Our print honors WASP Pilot Helen Snapp. Helen flew many aircraft for the U.S. Army Air Corp during the war, she even helped trained many of our men to become pilots! At the end of the war Helen was recruited to help in the first program using radio-controlled aircraft. One weekend when Helen was trying to get back to her airfield from South Florida to Georgia, she was given a ride in the actual Memphis Belle. The crew of men who were flying the Belle at the time were not the original crew of the Belle. They were new pilots who were flying the bomber around the United States to help raise money for War Bonds. The Memphis Belle was in Miami when Helen got on the Bomber to get a free ride back to her base in Georgia. When the bomber took off the pilots begged Helen to fly the bomber because they were hung over! They were stupid the night before, so Helen flew the Memphis Belle from Miami to Jacksonville, Florida.NOW THAT is a GREAT STORY! AND you get an autographed 8x10 photo pf Helen! Helen has autographed EACH of my 350 prints with a graphic pencil. EACH autograph was actually signed by the woman with ME sitting next to HER! It was an honor to have worked with the WASP pilots.
