It feels like it was a manufacturing defect, as there is glaze on it, but since it shows up when turned upside down, it is noted. When sitting on a table it is not noticeable. All the pieces look to be in good shape, but as they are used, they have minor imperfections such as utensil scratches or minor trim wear. Would make a great addition to your table.
