WONDERFUL Antique Italian Hand-Carved ORNATE Large Cameo Brooch/Pendant

Description: WONDERFUL antique Victorian (or earlier) Italian hand-carved LARGE cameo brooch/pendant. This unique, beautifully crafted cameo is 2 3/4” long by 2 3/8” wide and weighs 25.2 grams. It features a dimensional, bright gold metal frame with raised, applied repoussé/engraved floral designed elements with a unique and stunning hand-carved cameo featuring a mythological scene of two women or a man and a woman holding hands in a Grecian temple. This is such a pleasing design for a cameo, in my opinion. This large cameo has a pin fastener with an old “C” type clasp on the back, along with a bail that has a chain with a hand-crafted, old style safety pin attached that was likely used to attach this cameo to a jacket, etc. A chain could be run through this bail, converting this brooch into a pendant quite easily. This antique old brooch is in very good antique condition with no real damage other than minor, age appropriate surface wear and oxidation on the metal. It is a truly special piece.
