Description: DATING TO THE EDWARDIAN ERA FASHIONED OF A THIN BLACK SILK WITH A DULL SATIN FINISH AND BLACK CLUNY LACE WITH A FLORAL PATTERN. RUCHED GATHERING RUNS ATOP THE SHOULDER AND DOWN THE OUTER DOLMAN SLEEVE WITH THE SLEEVE ENDING WITH LACE AT THE ELBOW AND AN INNER SLEEVE OF PLEATED SILK NET WITH BLACK SILK CHIFFON AND A CUFF IN BLACK SEQUINS AND JET. LACE IS INSERTED THROUGHOUT THE SKIRTING WITH HOOK AND EYES CLOSING UP THE REAR. CUT PIGEON FRONT WITH PLEATED SILK BELTING AND A ROSETTE AT THE REAR HOOK CLOSURE. NOTE THAT THE UNDER PINNING WHITE PETTICOAT, INNER HOOP CAGE ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE. THE DRESS LOOKS BEAUTIFUL OVER ANY COLOR UNDER SLIP. CONDITION: THIS DRESS WOULD HAVE ORIGINALLY HAD A LINING, THERE ARE TRACES OF SILK TAFFETA ALONG THE INNER BELTING. THE INNER UNDER SLEEVE NEEDS TO BE RETACKED BACK WITH THE INNER CHIFFON LOOSE AND TEARING WHERE THE SLEEVE MEETS THE UNDER SLEEVE. EASILY FIXED WITH SOME SMALL REPAIR AND IF DESIRED THE CHIFFON COULD BE REMOVED. WHEN HELD TO THE LIGHT, THERE ARE THREE PINHEAD HOLES ON THE CENTER FRONT, COMPLETELY UNSEEN AS THEY ARE SO TINY WITH THREE SIMLAR PINHEAD HOLES SEEN TO THE SKIRTING, THEY DO NOT SHOW EVEN WITH THE WHITE.
