Description: Woodstock Music & Art Fair “An Aquarian Exposition of 3 Days & Music” Woodstock---- August 15-18, 2022 Max Yasqur’s Dairy Farm, Bethel, NY Peace, Love, Dove. The Woodstock Music and Art Fair was conducted on a 600-acre dairy farm owned by Max Yasqur in Bethel, New York from August 15-18, 1969. Bethel is 40 miles southwest of the town of Woodstock. It was a peaceful gathering of three days of Peace & Music for anestimated crowd of over 450,000 people and 32 music artists, Woodstock unknowingly changed the political and social culture during those turbulent times. Some of the performers were Richie Havens, the Who, Creedence Clearwater Water, Ario Guthrie, Joan Baez, Santana, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Ten Years After, the Band, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Joe Cocker, Country Joe & the Fish, Sly and the Family Stone and others. Jimi Hendrix was the last to perform at the festival and he tppk the stage at 8:30 Monday morning due to the delays caused by rain. My rendering of Woodstock includes a Hippie bus, the towers, Jim Hendrix, John Sebastian, the rainbow, tent city, the mud, bathing in a nearby pond, road sign, Woodstock tickets and the famous peace dove. MacGregor, Jr. was born in Medfield, MA, the son and grandson of Norfolk Hunt Club kennel masters. Many of his family members were self taught artists, woodcarvers, automobile mechanics and veterans of foreign wars including his father a WW1 US Army veteran. Bill is a graduate of Medfield High School, Wentworth Institute, and Northeastern University. His engineering career, from which he is now retired, included working for military and aerospace companies in industrial engineering and IR optics. His painting incorporates “old skool” mechanical and civil drafting tools and he uses a mixed medium of watercolors, acrylics and inks. Two rabbits are often in quite a few of his paintings. Look for them. He is frequently commissioned by United States Naval officers to create paintings of their ships and aircraft carriers on nautical charts. In May,2018, and for one year, four of Bill’s automotive related paintings were on display at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, MA
