Description: You are bidding on a STUNNING used example of WW2 German Luftwaffe Winter Shearling Fliegerhosen (Winter Flight Pants), as used by many German fighter pilots!Development of flight uniforms began during WW1, and continued into WW2. What developed were a 1-piece flight suit (2 for winter 1 for summer), which in 1936 developed into an electrically heated flight suit. The heavyweightw inter flight suits were made large enough to fit over the standard uniform. In 1940, a 2-piece suit (Channel Jacket & Pants) was made for fighter pilots, increasing the user mobility.Manufactured in white sheepskin, with a fur/fleece lining, this RARE pair of pants is in AMAZING condition for its age! Being a combat worn pair, they do show some slight marks and wear, but are SUPERB otherwise! These are the lighter grey/white version (they came in a variety of colors - anywhere from pure white to dark grey/blue), and feature NO rips, tears, damage, or repairs! The zippers are all 100% FUNCTIONAL, and the pulls are made by RITSCH. Snaps are all made by PRYM. The adjustable belt is still present and functional, however, a couple of the glass buttons are broken (easy replacement) . The interior is 100% INTACT and made of the rarer fur lining, as opposed to the more common fleece. The AMAZING feature is that it still retains the original owner's name on the tag, indicating, "Oblt. Knoll". Size markings have faded, but I suspect these are a "IIa" (medium/large). These were never customs tailored and were designed oversize to go over the regular flight pants/uniform, so please do not ask me for exact measurements. I have shown this EXACT type being worn in the last image. One if the NICEST I have owned of this type, it is overall an EXCELLENT example. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
