Description: Yellow Cacao Chocolate Tree plant (seedling) Theobroma cacao "Yellow" This is for (1) seedling 8-12" from last year's Chocolate season. This is the True Chocolate tree! The yellow pods have a sweet flesh that surrounds the seeds, which are what is used to make cocoa beans, and further processed into chocolate.This is a very tropical tree (we are in zone 10 and it still needs some protection) so you need to provide it with high humidity and warmth (high 70-80sF). Green house growing would be the only option in the northern states, or to be brought inside when it cools down- the leave edges will get " crispy" (burnt) if it gets too cold for their liking. they like a rich potting mix that drains well. Please do some research if you are planning to purchase these, as they can be finicky. Plant will be shipped wrapped without the pot to help with weight.
