All of our yews are field grown in western Michigan's sandy loam soils, so it has a very well-developed fibrous root system. Never spent a day of it's life in a pot. So, it has never had to suffer from a pot-bound root system and there is less transplant shock and quicker adaptation when planted into a new soil type.
